From April 1st
the cost of subscription charges in England went up 10p
to £6.50 while on the same day in Wales they were
cut by £1 to £4. The Welsh Assembly have also
confirmed that prescription charges in Wales will be totally
scrapped by 2007.
The English Democrats Party were in the process of setting
up a " Welsh Prescriptions Direct" service to
allow English people an easy way of obtaining prescriptions
in Wales. This has now been blocked by the Welsh Assembly
who are now adopting a Wales-only, bilingual prescription
to stop people going to Wales to obtain cheaper medication.
