The head of the Crown Prosecution Service, Sir David
Calvert-Smith, claimed that Britain was racist, saying that: “The
whole of society has a problem.” Calvert-Smith was strongly criticised
by people as diverse as Anne Widdecombe MP and Ravi Chand, president of
the National Black Police Association.
Editor's comment: I
think it is Sir David who has the problem. Surely to ascribe a negative
trait to a whole nation, is racist in itself?
