A trainee traffic warden cost the taxpayer thousands
of pounds when he claimed that a tiny cross on his badge and buttons discriminated
against his Moslem faith. In the end he dropped his claim but the court
fees still ended up costing the taxpayer around £5,000.
WATE's comment:If we live in a country such as England it
should go without saying that you cannot please all of the people all
of the time. Furthermore, from time to time you are just going to have
to go along with things that you are not 100% happy with...
...If you can't manage this then maybe it's time to emigrate to a
more accommodating country. I've heard that Saudi Arabia is quite liberal
and tolerant of other people's views.
