FAQ's

How much is delivery?
Your delivery charge will be shown on your shopping basket as you shop. All UK orders under 0.1kg will be £2.95. Orders over that upto 2kg will incur a delivery charge of £3.95. Orders over 2kg will be charged at £5.00.

UK orders of £60.00 or more will be delivered free of charge regardless of weight.

Overseas deliveries are all priced depending on weight and destination. The price will be shown on your shopping basket.

When will my parcel arrive?
The vast majority of parcels are shipped by first class mail or courier (depending on weight) within three working days. Royal Mail aim to deliver more than 90% of First Class mail by the next working day but this cannot be guaranteed. If there is going to be a delay in you getting your order, due to a stock shortage for example, we will contact you by e-mail.

If you have a deadline for delivery such as a birthday, please give us a ring or e-mail so that we can make sure you get it on time. Express (next day) deliveries can be arranged with us by phone.

We are conscious of other “deadlines” during our busiest periods such as St George’s Day, Christmas, football/rugby tournaments and go out of our way to make sure that all orders are sent in time. Express (next day) deliveries can be arranged with us by phone.

Delivery aims for the rest of the world are as follows:
Western Europe 4-12 working days
Outside Europe 5-12 working days

Can I pay by Cheque or Postal Order?
Yes, you can pay by cheque or postal order if you are in the UK and in British Pounds Sterling ONLY.

Use the shopping cart in the normal way then opt to pay by cheque rather than credit card. The shopping cart will work out your final total and you will be able to print an invoice off. All cheques and postal orders should be made payable to “The T-shirt Company”

Can I order over the phone?
Yes, you can order over the phone by giving us a ring on 0115 9679444. If you have shopped on line using our shopping cart and opted to pay by cheque, likewise you can phone us with your payment rather than sending a cheque if you prefer.

Will I get confirmation of my order?
As long as you have given a valid e-mail address you will receive an email confirmation when you place your order and another one when the order is shipped.

How is my parcel shipped?
Most orders are small enough to be sent by Royal Mail. Heavier orders may be sent by courier.

Express Delivery orders can be sent Royal Mail Special Delivery (next day by 1pm) by prior arrangement – give us a ring.

What happens if my order hasn’t turned up?
For standard first class mail or airmail delivery Royal Mail ask us to allow up to 15 working days from the date of dispatch for your parcel to arrive in the UK, rest of the world, 25 working days. Royal Mail will not class it as lost until after these times.

Check all your email accounts, as we will contact you if there is a delay in dispatch.

Do make sure that the parcel has not been 'attempted' by the postman. They do not always leave cards for first class mail which has been attempted so it is worth checking your depot even if you don't have a card.

Check with your local post office to see if the parcel awaits you there. Still no joy? Contact us and we'll soon sort it out.

Is ordering online safe and secure?
Ordering on-line with wearetheenglish.com is Safe and Secure. When shopping online look out for the Padlock symbol or addresses that start https:// on any page that is asking for credit card details.

The secure server uses 128bit SSL Encryption. This is to encrypt all data as it is transferred over the Internet. The secure servers are situated on a standalone private network completely isolated from other networks and connections. They have a single resilient connection to the Internet, which is serviced through dual dedicated ICSA compliant firewalls. The servers are further secured through "server lock" protection, with all credit card details encrypted through 3DES Encryption.

What Credit Cards do you accept?
Visa, Switch, Mastercard, Delta, Solo and American Express.

Can I have a VAT receipt?
A VAT receipt will be sent with the order. Our VAT number is 859 7375 60. Customers outside the EU will not be charged VAT.

What is your returns policy?
We have a 30 day no quibble return and refund or replacement policy. Should you wish to return unwanted goods please send them back in their original condition for a refund. This will not include postage costs. If the goods are faulty or we sent them in error, we will offer the option of refund or replacement.

What can you do about my complaint?
We want you to be completely satisfied with our service and are eager to resolve any problems. Should you have a complaint we will endeavour to respond within 3 working days. Please contact us giving as much information as possible regarding your order to help us sort out the problem quickly.
