Why England needs
a better deal.....

ENGLAND
HAS BEEN LEFT OUT
Devolution to Scotland and Wales means they
have national parliaments to run their domestic affairs
like policing, environment, health and education without
outside interference. Good for them. But England
has been left out!
It's now the only country run entirely by the
Westminster Parliament and Cabinet, made up of MPs
and Ministers from all the component countries of
the UK. This is unfair and undemocratic. We need an
English Parliament to protect our economic interests,
natural resources, environment and cultural traditions. Equal treatment is surely our right.
ENGLAND
HAS NO VOICE
While Scotland and Wales have been recognised
as nation states by the UK and the EU and enjoy control
over their own destiny, England is denied similar
recognition. Alone in the UK, we have no national
institutions to define and defend our interests and
no representation in Brussels. England has no voice.
The UK is always ready to tax us and use our
resources but persistently ignores our interests,
systematically under-represents us and chronically
under-funds our public services. We pay the piper
but we don't call the tune.
An English Parliament will ensure our voice
is heard.
THE ENGLISH ARE BEING SHORTCHANGED
Every year the English pay far more in taxes
than is spent on their services and suffer an annual
loss approaching £25 billion. This is your money,
siphoned-off in taxes and doled out in lavish subsidies
to Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the EU. The
cumulative damage to the English economy, bearing
this burden year after year, is crippling. It goes
some way to explaining why our infrastructure is inadequate
and our public services so run down. The English
are being short-changed but no institution or
major political party stands up and criticises this
drain on our resources.
ENGLAND IS BEING PARTITIONED
In concert with the EU, the UK Government has
broken England into nine invented 'regions', though
they are alien to our tradition and we've managed
perfectly well without them for centuries. This will
mean the end of our ancient shire counties and the
effective end of England as a unified nation which
it has been since 954AD. England is being partitioned.
We are being subjected to a policy of 'divide and
rule', one phoney region set against another. The
Government calls it 'devolution', in reality it is
the road to abolition.
An English Parliament
will protect
our rights and secure our future.
Nothing
less will do!
